Aldo Zunino

Aldo Zunino (* 1963 ) is an Italian jazz musician ( double bass ).

Zunino started playing bass when he was 17; before that he had learned to play piano and guitar for six years . He worked in the Italian jazz scene from the mid-1980s; He has also performed in France, Germany, England, Spain, Switzerland, Croatia and Slovenia. The first recordings were made in 1988 when he accompanied the singer George Masso with the Genova Jazz Band in Genoa . In the following years he played a. a. in the jazz bands of Massimo Urbani , Massimo Farao , Keiko McNamara , Flavio Boltro , Claudio Capurro , Tony Scott , as well as with the guest musicians in Italy Jimmy Cobb ( Tribute to Wynton Kelly and Paul Chambers , 1997), Bob Wilber / Kenny Davern and Clark Terry . From the 2000s he continued to work with Paolo Birro , Benny Bailey , Riccardo Zegna , Irio De Paula , Benny Golson , Lee Konitz & Bansigu Big Band, Gianluca Tagliazucchi , Francesco Cafiso , Duccio Castelli , Pietro Tonolo , Joey DeFrancesco , Scott Hamilton , Andrea Pozza and in the Torino Jazz Orchestra ( Ow! In Honor of Gianni Basso , 2009). In the following decade he was a member of the Massimo Farao trio; he also played with Fulvio Albano . In the field of jazz he was involved in recording sessions between 1967 and 2016.
