Alexander John Anthony Agnew (born December 22, 1972 in Antwerp ) is a Belgian cabaret artist , stand-up comedian and singer .

Career

Agnew is the son of the English footballer John Agnew and a Limburg mother. In 2003 he was the first Belgian to win both the audience and the jury award at the Leiden Cabaret Festival in the Netherlands. After touring with several other cabaret artists, Agnew later embarked on a successful solo career. He published seven DVDs , which were sold over 150,000 times in the Benelux countries. In 2013 Agnew ended his career as a cabaret artist. During his farewell tour he was able to sell out the Antwerp Sports Palace on four consecutive days.

In 2005 Agnew founded the metal / hard rock band Diablo Blvd together with guitarist Dave Hubrechts , in which Agnew took the post of singer. So far the band has released four studio albums, of which the third work Follow the Deadlights reached number five on the Belgian-Flemish album charts.
