Alex Burkhard (* 1988 in Lindenberg im Allgäu ) is a German slam poet, author, cabaret artist and presenter.

Life

Alex Burkhard grew up in Scheidegg in the Allgäu with three siblings. He studied Scandinavian Studies , German and Ethnology at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . He wrote his thesis in 2014 on the subject of "The meaning of the weather in Hamsuns Pan and Strindberg's I havsbandet ".

Since 2007 he has appeared at poetry slams and other literary events. His style can be described as calm and personal, the Süddeutsche Zeitung wrote in 2017: “With Burkhard, one of the most poetic of the 30 participants has always won, his resilient devotion is calm and sensual. His words are a sea of ​​flowers, his thoughts are a playground. ”Burkhard is one of the most versatile German-speaking slammers, masters humorous prose as well as poetry and very performative texts.

Alex Burkhard is moderator of the poetry slams in Lindenberg and Kempten (Allgäu) , as well as founder and member of the Munich reading stage Die Stützen der Gesellschaft . In 2018 he was accepted into the circle of Munich tower scribes .
