Alex Forsyth (born January 6, 1955 in Galt , Ontario ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player who, among other things, played a game for the Washington Capitals in the National Hockey League (NHL) on the position of the center during his active career between 1973 and 1978 has denied. Forsyth spent most of his short professional career in the American Hockey League (AHL) and Central Hockey League (CHL).

Career

Forsyth spent his junior career between 1973 and 1975 with the Kingston Canadians , for whom he played in the Ontario Hockey Association (OHA) and the Ontario Major Junior Hockey League (OMJHL), the two predecessor leagues of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). The center forward collected 80 scorer points in 122 appearances . In the 1975 NHL Amateur Draft , the offensive player was ranked 18th in the first round by the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League (NHL) and the San Diego Mariners of the World Hockey Association (WHA ) selected in the ninth round in 122nd position in the 1975 WHA Amateur Draft .

The striker then received a contract with the Washington Capitals and was there in his rookie season with the farm team Richmond Robins in the American Hockey League (AHL) in the roster. The following game year, in which he completed his only NHL assignment for the Capitals in November 1976, he was for the Springfield Indians , also in the AHL, on the ice. After Forsyth had spent his third professional year in the minor leagues - this time with the Tulsa Oilers in the Central Hockey League (CHL) - his contract was not extended by the Washington Capitals. As the Canadian did not subsequently find a new employer, he ended his active career at the age of 23.
