Alexandra Estella DeAnna Meneses (born February 12, 1965 in Chicago , Illinois ) is an American actress .

Life

Meneses was born Alexandra Estella DeAnna Meneses in Chicago in 1965. Her father has Mexican ancestry and her mother Ukrainian . During high school, she learned acting in the theater. After graduating, she modeled in Milan , Italy . Two years later she moved to Los Angeles and attended the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute to devote herself to acting. In December 2004 she married her husband John H. Simpson.

Career

Meneses started out in small productions and appeared in front of the camera for the first time in 1994. This was followed by appearances in television films such as Amanda and the Extra-Terrestrial and Gun Power , before she starred in the series Night Shift with John in an episode in 1996 and had a guest appearance on the sitcom Friends the following year . In the same year she had a supporting role in the drama Selena: An American Dream as Sara , in which Jennifer Lopez was given the lead role. In the doctor series Dr. Quinn - a passionate doctor , she embodied the character Teresa in eleven episodes . In 2000 she played the role of Roxie in the comedy The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas . This was followed by appearances in series such as CSI: Miami , Prison Break , Psych and CSI: On the trail of the perpetrators .
