Alexander Metreveli Iraklijewitsch ( Russian Александр Ираклиевич Метревели ; Georgian ალექსანდრე მეტრეველი , Alex Metreveli , often English Alex Metreveli * 2 November 1944 in Tbilisi , Georgian SSR ) is a former Soviet - Russian tennis player of Georgian origin.

Metrewelis greatest success was reaching the final in the men's singles of Wimbledon in 1973, in which he was defeated by Jan Kodeš from Czechoslovakia with 1: 6, 8: 9 and 3: 6. Also in mixed he was there in 1968 and 1970 in the finals.
