Alexander Alexejewitsch Ivanov ( Russian Александр Алексеевич Иванов ; born April 25, 1993 in Nizhny Tagil , Sverdlovsk Oblast , Russian Federation ) is a Russian walker .

Career

Ivanov won the silver medal at the 2012 Junior World Championships in Barcelona. He improved his personal best to 40: 12.90 minutes.

In February 2013 in Sochi he set a new personal best of 1:21:22 h over the 20-kilometer route . At the 2013 World Championships in Moscow, he became world champion over 20 kilometers. At 1:20:58 h, Ivanov was 11 seconds faster than his Chinese competitor Chen Ding .

At the 2014 European Championships in Zurich , he was runner-up over the 20-kilometer route in a new personal best of 1:19:45 h.

Ivanov was banned for three years with retroactive effect from May 2, 2017. The 2013 world champion in Moscow not only loses this gold medal, but all medals between June 2012 and August 2014.

Private

Ivanov lives and trains in Saransk .
