Alexander August von Buchholtz

Alexander August von Buchholtz (also: Buchholz ; born January 20, 1802 in Königsberg i. Pr .; † June 2, 1856 ibid) was a German pandect scientist .

Life

Buchholtz 'parents were the sea merchant Johann Friedrich von Buchholtz (born December 11, 1760 in Koenigsberg) and his wife Christina Dorothea geb. Wenk , the daughter of the Königsberg merchant Friedrich Wenk . He attended the old town high school (Königsberg) .

After high school enrolled he in 1819 at the University of Königsberg for jurisprudence . His teacher was Heinrich Eduard Dirksen . On March 22, 1824 , he received his doctorate as Dr. iur. He moved to the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Berlin and studied from Easter 1825 to Easter 1826 at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen . After returning to Königsberg, Michaelis completed his habilitation in 1826. He received the Venia legendi as a private lecturer and in 1828 Michaelis was appointed associate professor . The Albertina appointed him at Easter 1833 as full professor for Roman law . In the summer semester of 1837 he was rector . He died in office at the age of 54.
