Alexander Brenner (* 1958 in Salach ) is a German architect based in Stuttgart and owner of the Alexander Brenner Architects studio .

Life

Alexander Brenner studied architecture and urban planning at the University of Stuttgart from 1981 to 1987 and worked as a project architect for Dieter Hauser in Tübingen after completing his studies. At the same time he began his work as a university lecturer, teaching urban planning and design at various universities - most recently in 2008 at the Biberach University of Applied Sciences in the subject of spatial design on behalf of Kai Haag. In 1990 he founded his own studio in Stuttgart. Alexander Brenner is best known for his bright white cubic houses and villas, whose plastic-geometric facades are often reminiscent of constructivist tableaus. Common to all projects is an integrated planning, which includes the planning of the building construction as well as the spatial design, the furniture, the lighting and the other specialist planning, as well as the design of the outdoor facilities. His most famous buildings include the Villa am Oberen Berg (2007), which was nominated in 2009 for the Mies van der Rohe Award , the European Union's prize for contemporary architecture, as well as the Heidehof House (2008) and the Villa SU in Stuttgart ( 2012).
