Alexander Fiseisky

Alexander Fiseisky ( Russian Александр Васильевич Фисейский, Aleksandr Wassiljewitsch Fisejskij ; * 1950 in Moscow ) is a Russian organist and musicologist .

Life

Alexander Fiseisky studied piano with Vera Gornostajewa and organ with Leonid Rojsman at the Moscow Conservatory . He has made guest appearances as an organist in over 30 countries and took part in international competitions. In 2000 he played the entire organ works of Johann Sebastian Bach four times in Germany, including once on one day in Düsseldorf , and also several times in Russia and other countries. In 2009 he presented all of Georg Friedrich Handel's concerts for organ and orchestra in Germany and Moscow.

Professor Alexander Fiseisky taught at the Gnessin Academy and the Schnittke Institute in Moscow. He gave master classes and taught at music academies in London , Vienna , Hamburg and Baltimore, among others . He has been a member of juries at international organ competitions in Great Britain, Canada, Germany, Poland and Russia.

Alexander Fiseisky has published over 40 records and CDs with organ music. He published several anthologies with editions of Russian and Baltic organ music, as well as monographs and essays on Russian and Baltic organ history.

He was honored as an Honored Artist of Russia .
