Alexander Toroitich Kiprotich (born October 10, 1994 ) is a Kenyan athlete who specializes in javelin throwing.

Athletic career

Alexander Kiprotich gained his first international experience in 2013 at the Junior African Championships in Réduit , where he won the gold medal in the javelin throw with a distance of 71.43 m and failed to make a valid attempt in the shot put. The following year he took part in the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow for the first time, but was eliminated there with 68.91 m in qualification before he finished seventh at the African Championships in Marrakech with 72.43 m. In 2015 he took part in the Africa Games in Brazzaville , where he was fourth with a throw of 76.34 m and then reached seventh place with 72.14 m at the Military World Games in Mungyeon, South Korea . In 2016 he won the bronze medal at the African Championships in Durban with 74.08 m behind the South African Phil-Mar van Rensburg and John Ampomah from Ghana. In 2018 he again took part in the Commonwealth Games in the Australian Gold Coast , where he finished eleventh with 73.21 m in the final. He then came fifth at the African Championships in Asaba with a throw of 73.47 m. In 2019 he took part again in the Africa Games in Rabat and won the silver medal there with 77.50 m behind his compatriot Julius Yego .
