Alexander Korobow ( Kazakh Александр Коробов ; born April 1, 1978 in Alma-Ata ) is a former Kazakh ski jumper .
Career
He made his international debut in the 1994/95 season as part of the Ski Jumping Continental Cup . On February 10, 1996 he started the ski jumping World Cup on the Kulm for the first time . At the Ski Flying World Cup he reached rank 48. He also achieved the same position the following day in individual flying at the Ski Flying World Championship in 1996 . In February 1997 Korobow started at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Trondheim, Norway . After 58th place on the normal hill, he landed on 48th place on the large hill. Although he was unable to celebrate any further successes in the Continental Cup, he was used again in the World Cup in January 1998. In ski flying in Oberstdorf on the Heini-Klopfer ski flying hill , he reached places 40 and 43, before he finished 42nd at the following ski flying world championship in 1998 on the same hill. In the ski flying in Vikersund in March he reached place 58.
In the summer of 1999 he started in the Ski Jumping Grand Prix for the first time and reached 11th place with the team at the team competition in Hinterzarten . After further unsuccessful individual competitions in the World and Continental Cups, he ended up with the team at the Team World Cup in Kuopio for the first time Top 10. For two more years Korobow started unsuccessfully in the Continental Cup before he was part of the Kazakh team at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City . After 48th place on the normal hill, he was eliminated from the large hill in the qualification. Together with Maksim Polunin , Stanislaw Filimonow and Pawel Gaiduk he reached the 13th and last place in the team competition.
After Korobow remained unsuccessful again in the 2001/02 season , he ended his active ski jumping career after the season.
