Alexander Malyshev (born September 20, 1989 in Leninogorsk ) is a Kazakh cross-country skier .

Career

Since 2007 Malyshev has mainly participated in FIS races and the Alpine Cup. He made his World Cup debut at the Tour de Ski 2012/13 . He got his first World Cup points in Toblach with the 28th place in the 5 km stage. After 63rd place at the Nordic Opening in Kuusamo at the beginning of the 2013/14 season, he won gold with the relay at the 2013 Winter Universiade in Lago di Tesero . In January 2015 he won the silver medal with the relay at the Winter Universiade in Štrbské Pleso . In the 2015/16 season in Falun he achieved his best place in the World Cup singles so far with 20th place over 10 km classic. After finishing 69th in the World Cup mini tour in Lillehammer at the beginning of the 2016/17 season, he was eighth over 10 km classic and sixth in the sprint at the 2017 Winter Universiade in Almaty . At the Winter Asian Games 2017 in Sapporo , he came 13th in the sprint.
