Alexander Galimov ( Russian Александр Саидгереевич Галимов ; * 2. May 1985 in Yaroslavl , Russian SFSR ; † 12. September 2011 in Moscow ) was a Russian ice hockey player who spent his entire career at Lokomotiv Yaroslavl in the Russian Super League , the Continental Hockey League and third-rate Pervaya League was under contract.
Career
Alexander Galimov began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth division of Lokomotive Yaroslavl . From 2001 to 2004 the winger played for the second team in the third-rate Perwaja League . He then made his debut for Lokomotives professional team in the Super League in the 2004/05 season . In his rookie year , he scored a goal in a total of 47 games and provided an assist. In the 2007/08 season he was runner-up with his team.
Since the 2008/09 season Galimow was on the ice for Lokomotive Yaroslavl in the newly formed Continental Hockey League . In their premiere season he failed with Lokomotive only in the playoff final for the Gagarin Cup with 3: 4 wins in the best-of-seven series at Ak Bars Kazan .
On September 7, 2011, Alexander Galimov was among the first two survivors of the plane crash near Yaroslavl , in which he suffered burns of almost 90 percent of the body surface and the upper respiratory tract. After his condition had been stabilized by the doctors, he was transferred to the capital Moscow on September 8, where he received intensive care. He died five days after the accident from his serious injuries.
International
For Russia , Galimow took part in the junior division of the 2005 U20 World Junior Championship . The Russians won the silver medal, Galimov contributed one goal and two assists in six games.
In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad for the Euro Hockey Tour in 2010 and 2011 . There he played at the Karjala Cup 2009 , Channel One Cup 2010 and LG Hockey Games 2011 . In a total of nine games, he scored two goals and one assist. He won the Karjala Cup and Channel One Cup with the Russians, the LG Hockey Games finished the Sbornaja in second place.
