Alexander Valeryevich Schulginow ( Russian Александр Валерьевич Шульгино́в ; born March 1, 1998 in Klin ) is a Russian short tracker .

Career

Schulginow started in Dresden in February 2016 in the Short Track World Cup for the first time and finished 23rd over 1500 m and 13th over 1000 m. With the relay he won his first World Cup there. At the 2016 World Championships in Seoul , he finished fifth in the relay. In the 2016/17 season he won in Dresden with the relay and also took third place in the 1500 m and in Minsk second place with the relay. At the European Championships 2017 in Turin , he won the silver medal with the relay and ran in tenth place in the all-around competition. In March 2017, he came fourth at the World Championships in Rotterdam . In the 2017/18 season he again won the silver medal at the 2018 European Championships in Dresden and came seventh in the relay at the 2018 World Championships in Montreal . At the season highlight, the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , he finished 32nd place over 1500 m, 27th place over 1000 m and 15th place over 500 m. In the 2018/19 season he triumphed in Dresden with the mixed relay and in Turin with the relay and also came in third place with the relay in Salt Lake City . At the European Championships 2019 in Dordrecht , the relay won the bronze medal. The following season he was in Salt Lake City over 1500 m and in Montreal with the relay third. At the 2020 European Championships in Debrecen , he won the gold medal with the relay.
