Alexandra Beilharz
Alexandra Beilharz (* 1963 in Tübingen ) is a German translator of French literature, non-fiction books and films and a Romance writer .
biography
Alexandra Beilharz is the daughter of the novelist Richard Beilharz and the sister of the actress Corinna Beilharz .
After graduating from the Kurfürst-Friedrich-Gymnasium Heidelberg , she completed a three-year professional training course as a fashion designer at the Lette-Verein in Berlin. She then studied Romance Studies and Latin American Studies at the Universities of Free University Berlin and Paris IV Sorbonne . PhD scholarship from the Konrad Adenauer Foundation . In 1995 she did her doctorate under Peter Brockmeier with a thesis on the reception of the works of the Marquis de Sade in French literature of the decadence and fin de siècle . From 1995 to 2003 she was a research assistant at the Institute for Romance Studies at the Humboldt University in Berlin . She has been working as a freelance editor and translator since 2004.
