Alexandra Maria Freund (born March 6, 1967 - June 21, 2001 ) was a German television presenter and program speaker .

Life

Freund was born the daughter of TV presenter and actress Petra Schürmann and doctor Gerhard Freund. After graduating from high school in Starnberg in 1987 , she began studying art history and began working for the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation . In 1992 she worked as Elmar Hörig's assistant on the ZDF dating show Love at First Sight .

She later trained as a speaker at the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation, where she took on numerous moderations and program announcements. From 1999 she was the main speaker in the evening show . She became known there through her moderation at BR-alpha as part of the IT compact course broadcast there by the Deggendorf University of Applied Sciences .

Alexandra Freund was killed in a traffic accident on the A8 . A wrong-way driver had turned around on the highway with intent to commit suicide and had crashed into her car.

Her mother wrote down the memories of her daughter in the book And a night goes by like a year .
