radio

From 1980 to 1999 he was a moderator on SWF3 and its successor SWR3 . He was known for his jokes, which he mainly told on the Elmi Radio Show , and for his own musical compilation. At the same time he could be heard in Berlin and the surrounding area with his broadcasts Radiopuzzle , later renamed Radio-Flip , with RIAS 2 and its successor rs2 and then with Alles Banane at Radio Fritz , in which he often found elements, structures and ideas from his previous SWF3 broadcasts unchanged.

In March 1999, the SWR dismissed him after several sexual innuendos and jokes about gays . He had made fun of a special Deutsche Bahn campaign for homosexual couples, including sentences like “Warm weeks on the train. That's a good thing, you won't have to heat the trains in the future ”. SWR3 boss Gerold Hug said: "This is the bottom drawer of gay jokes". This was preceded shortly before by sexual innuendos against schoolgirls in his television show Bube, Dame, Hörig and a microphone ban for several weeks in January because of similar sayings. Radio director Bernhard Hermann stated that the station should "not end up in the dirty corner for long".

After his departure from SWR3, Rockland Radio engaged Hörig as a presenter with his own show. From 2004 to the beginning of April 2007 he presented his show on Radio Regenbogen under the old name. The new Elmi radio show was initially broadcast on working days and from May 2006 was always on Saturdays. In addition, he moderated the program Dinner for Elmi on Thursdays . From February 2008 to April 2009 Hörig could be heard on Saturdays and Sundays in double moderation with Claudia Barbonus on Radio Cologne . During the Soccer World Cup 2010 Elmar Hörig produced a comedy series for the Baden-Württemberg private broadcaster Radio 7 . From May 2013 to the end of 2015 he could be heard daily on the radio station Top20Radio .

watch TV

In parallel to his radio career, Hörig worked for television. First he moderated the school quiz series The Six Siebeng'scheiten (1983–1987) for SWF television and several years later on ZDF the single show Love at First Sight (1992).

He was then hired by Sat.1 and presented the game shows Pack the Toothbrush (1995–1996), Bube, Dame, Hörig (1996–1999), Go all out! (1996–1997) and the music show Elmis Oldie Show . A verbal argument with a minor visitor was interpreted as sexual harassment Hörig and led to his dismissal by the private broadcaster. In 2010 he was a participant in the cooking show The Perfect Celebrity Dinner on VOX .
