Alexandra Geese

Alexandra Geese (born July 1, 1968 in Lippstadt ) is a German interpreter and politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ). She has been a member of the European Parliament as part of the Greens / EFA group since the 2019 European elections .

Life

Alexandra Geese was born on July 1st, 1968 and grew up with her family in Bonn . After completing school at the Helmholtz-Gymnasium and Friedrich-Ebert-Gymnasium , Geese moved to Italy in 1987 to train as an interpreter . She then studied political science there as a part-time job . From 2010 onwards, she completed a master's degree in conference interpreting at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences . From 2015 she worked as an interpreter for the European Parliament .

Geese joined the Greens in 2010 and was on the board of the Bonn district association from 2010 to 2014. From 2013 to 2014 she was spokeswoman for the district association. In the European elections in Germany in 2019 , Geese was elected a member of the European Parliament via position 17 on the European list of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen . She joined the Greens / EFA group, for which she is a member of the Committee on Budgets and the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection . She is also a deputy member of the regional development committee .

At the end of 2019, her group named her as shadow rapporteur for the Digital Services Act .

Geese is married and has three daughters.
