Alexandra Simone Maurer (born March 24, 1982 in Zurich ) is a Swiss television and radio presenter and editor with Jamaican roots. From 2013 to 2016 she worked for the television station Joiz Germany . There she moderated “Check-In” and “Live & Direct” alternately with other moderators. She also moderates “Red Carpets”, events and galas such as the Echo Music Prize , the Swiss Music Awards, the Elite Model Look or the Jelmoli Beauty Nights. She works in Germany, Switzerland and England.

Career

Maurer grew up bilingual with her Jamaican mother and her Swiss father. She completed a commercial apprenticeship at the Business School Zurich , where she completed her training as a marketing assistant in 2006. In addition, she completed dance and ballet training. Until 2007 she worked as a customer advisor at Publimedia AG and later at Carat Switzerland.

In 2008 she gained her first experience as a TV presenter for VIVA and MTV Switzerland. Here she took part in the casting show Joya runs and moderated for the lifestyle show Freakish TV. Then she switched to Star TV Switzerland. There she presented the call-in-show Swissquiz . Since there were several allegations of fraud, the program was discontinued. Maurer hosted the last edition of the show. In 2009 she started working as an editor and presenter for a morning show on the Berlin radio station Jam FM . In 2010 she switched to the Zurich radio station Radio 105, where she worked as a presenter and editor for the morning program. Since the start of the youth television channel joiz in Switzerland, Maurer has been part of the permanent team of moderators and worked in front of and behind the camera for the programs Living Room, Coffee + Charts and Home Run. When the station expanded to Germany in 2013, she made the move back to Germany and worked as a presenter for the TV station joiz Germany until shortly before it was closed . Here she stood in front of the camera for the shows Living Room, A Date with Alexandra, Coffee + Charts and Home Run .

In November 2014 she was a participant in Stefan Raabs TV total high diving .

However, she only achieved her first major success with an episode of the Living Room , in which she interviewed the Viennese artist Moneyboy .
