Career
The defensive midfielder began his career at SE Palmeiras , where he immediately celebrated his first successes. In his first season in 1993 he won the Brazilian Championship, the State Championship of São Paulo and the Torneo Rio-São Paulo here. In the following season you could defend both the Brazilian Championship and the State Championship.
After a rather disappointing 1995 season, in which Palmeiras did not win a title, Amaral moved to AC Parma in Serie A , but he was unable to assert himself here. Therefore, he moved to Benfica Lisbon at the end of the season . For the 1999 season Amaral returned to Brazil where he played for Corinthians São Paulo . With that, success returned, because in 1999 Corinthians won the Brazilian Championship, the State Championship of São Paulo and the Torneo Rio-São Paulo.
Despite this, Amaral moved to CR Vasco da Gama in Rio de Janeiro at the end of the season . This move turned out to be spot on, as Vasco won the Brazilian Championship, the Copa Mercosur and the Taça Guanabara in the 2000 season . In the 2000/01 season Amaral dared to jump abroad again and moved to Fiorentina in Serie A , 2000/01 he won the Coppa Italia, but he could only record two appearances in the Coppa. It was not until his second season in Florence that he was used regularly.
For the 2002/03 season, the Brazilian then moved to Turkey to Beşiktaş Istanbul and left this club for the second half of the season. He then signed on to Gremio Porto Alegre . As a result, Amaral often changed clubs. Al-Ittihad in Qatar , Vitória Bahia and Atlético Mineiro were the next stops. In January 2006 Amaral moved to the Polish club Pogoń Stettin , in July 2007 he went back to Brazil and played for Santa Cruz FC in Recife . Since January 2008 he has been playing for Grêmio Barueri .
