history

Ascent to the monastery in Floreşti

The first written mention of Bicani on June 13, 1436 is due to today's village Ghicani . For Buda and Morăreni there are files from 1468, in which the large number of flour mills is recorded. Floreşti was of greater importance with its monastery from 1590, the place was documented for the first time on July 12, 1597.

The place of birth Pleşeşti of the well-known Romanian writer Alexandru Vlahuță was merged with the district Pătraşcani on his centenary birthday in 1958 and received the current name Alexandru Vlahuță.

In 2003, the villages of Ibăneşti , Mânzați and Puțu Olarului in the corridor of the village were separated and formed into the Ibăneşti community .

Today the community has five schools and two kindergartens. In addition to extensive agriculture (arable farming, livestock and fish farming), the number of industrial operations is increasing, primarily on an agronomic basis. The municipal council is also trying to find more tourism offers.

On November 19, the annual culture days take place as part of a large festival in honor of Alexandru Vlahuță.
