Alexei Alexandrowitsch Wassiltschenko ( Russian Алексей Александрович Васильченко ; born March 29, 1981 in Ust-Kamenogorsk , Kazakh SSR ) is a Kazakh ice hockey player who has been under contract with CS Progym Gheorgheni since July 2018 .

Career

Alexei Vasilchenko began his career as a hockey player with Torpedo Ust-Kamenogorsk , for which he made his debut in the Kazakh ice hockey championship in the 2000/01 season and immediately won the national championship . In the following season, the defender ran with a torpedo in the Wysschaja Liga , the second Russian division. He then received a contract with HK Spartak Moscow from the Russian Super League , but ended the 2002/03 season at Chimik Voskressensk in the Wysschaja Liga.

After a year with Salawat Yulayev Ufa from the super league, Vasilchenko spent the time from 2004 to 2007 with his league rivals Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk . He started the 2007/08 season at HK CSKA Moscow and finished it at HK MWD Balaschicha . For the 2008/09 season , the former national player and 2006 Olympian returned to his Kazakh homeland, where he signed with Barys Astana from the newly founded Continental Hockey League . After three years he left the team and switched to HK Tractor Chelyabinsk within the KHL for the 2011/12 season .

In the 2015/16 season, Vasilchenko was under contract with HK Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk .

International

For Kazakhstan , Vasilchenko took part in the junior division of the U20 World Junior Championships in 2000 and 2001 . In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at the B World Championships in 2001 , 2002 and 2011 and at the A World Championships in 2005 and 2010 . He also represented Kazakhstan at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin .
