Alexei Stepanovich Petrov
Alexei Stepanowitsch Petrow ( Russian Алексей Степанович Петров ; born March 22, 1937 in Leningrad , † March 2009 in Moscow ) was a Soviet cyclist . He became champion of the Soviet Union in 1962 at the championships held as an individual time trial .
Palmarès
In 1961 Petrov scored three stage victories in the International Peace Tour. He was the best climber , 16th in the individual ranking and won the team ranking with the Soviet team. At the UCI World Championships in 1962, he finished 10th in the road race .
