Alexei Vladimirovich Lovchev
Alexei Wladimirowitsch Lowtschew ( Russian Алексей Владимирович Ловчев ; born June 13, 1989 in Karabanovo ) is a Russian weightlifter . He became world champion at the 2015 world championship in super heavyweight , setting a new world record in duels (475 kg) and jerking (264 kg).
Career
Alexei Lovchev began lifting weights as a teenager in his hometown of Karabanovo . Due to good performances at national level, he made the jump into the Russian national team of weightlifters in 2012. Due to his young age, he is considered the great hope of the Russian Weightlifting Association in the super heavyweight class. He is a student, lives and trains in Moscow.
In 2011 he made his first start in an international championship at the Universiade in Shenzhen / China. He reached it in the heavyweight class in a duel 375 kg (170-205). With this achievement he took 3rd place. In 2012 he switched to the super heavyweight class and soon weighed just under 130 kg. At the Russian championship in 2012 he was unlucky, because he made three failed attempts in the snatch with 185 kg and therefore remained unplaced in this championship without a duel. In 2013 he was used at the European Junior Championships (U 23) in Eilat. He scored there in a duel 425 kg (190-235) and was behind Jiří Orság , Czech Republic, 427 kg (186-241) vice European champion in the duel, in snatch and in jerk.
In October 2013 he also competed in the World Championships in Wrocław. He managed there in the super heavyweight duel 430 kg (200-230) and won with this performance behind Ruslan Albegow , Russia, 464 kg (209-255) and Bahador Moulaei , Iran, 458 kg (203-255) the bronze medal.
In April 2014 he became European champion in the super heavyweight class in the duel, snatch and push in Tel Aviv . He managed 457 kg (205-252). At the Russian championship in August 2014 in Grozny, he increased to 468 kg (212-256) and thus won the Russian championship titles in duels and jerks, while in the snatch Tschingis Moguschkow, who managed 213 kg in this discipline, let go had to. At the 2014 World Cup in Almaty, Alexej Lovchew failed with 205 kg (twice) and 206 kg in all three attempts at snatch. He therefore remained unplaced without a duel. A consolation for him was surely the world championship in pushing, which he secured with 257 kg.
In August 2015 Alexei Lovchew became Russian super heavyweight champion and presented himself in fantastic form at the World Championships in Houston in November 2015. He won the world title in a duel in Houston with the new world record of 475 kg, where he achieved 211 kg in snatch and 264 kg in push, which was also a new world record. However, he was tested positive during the doping control and banned for four years. The titles and world records were stripped of him.
