Alfonso Zambrano Payan
Alfonso Zambrano Payán (born December 26, 1915 in Pasto ; † December 7, 1991 ) was a Colombian sculptor .
Life
From 1941 Zambrano studied fine arts at the Universidad de Nariño . He is known for his wooden sculptures (especially Christ statues ) and altars , as well as for paper sculptures for the carnival of blacks and whites .
The Museo Alfonso Zambrano in Pasto is dedicated to him.

- 1972: Inauguration of the “Alfonso Zambrano Payán” exhibition room of the Casa de la Cultura de Nariño
- 1978: Medal of the Maestria Artesanal , awarded by the Ministerio de Desarrollo y Artesanías of Colombia
- 1984: Medalla al Mérito of the government of Nariño
- 1985: Medal of Honor Lorenzo de Aldana from the Pasto City Council
- 1985: Honorary doctorate from the Faculty of Plastic Arts of the Universidad de Nariño
- 1988: Medal Maestro de Maestros from the Ministerio de Desarrollo y Artesanías of Colombia
