Alfred Ackermann

Alfred Ackermann (born April 2, 1907 in Entlebuch ; † December 12, 1997 in Lucerne , entitled to live in Entlebuch ) was a Swiss politician (FDP) and entrepreneur .

biography

Alfred Ackermann, a member of the Roman Catholic Church , was born on April 2, 1907 as the son of Alfred Ackermann senior (1859–1925) in Entlebuch. After attending secondary school in Sarnen , he completed his commercial diploma at the Lucerne Cantonal School . He then received vocational training abroad. As a trained businessman in the cloth trade, Ackermann managed his father's cloth mail order business, Gebrüder Ackermann AG, in Entlebuch from 1925 to 1971.

Ackermann, in 1938 by his uncle Isidor adopted was married in 1931 with Anny, the daughter of the doctor Josef Fischer. He died on December 12, 1997 at the age of 91 in Lucerne.

Political career

Ackermann was a member of the FDP and was represented on the Lucerne Council from 1939 to 1960 . He also sat on the National Council from 1953 to 1970 . In terms of community politics, he served as mayor of Entlebuch from 1963 to 1971 . As a representative of the Lucerne mountain region, he campaigned politically for the mountain farmers, among other things . With the establishment of the first music school in the Lucerne landscape, he also endeavored to promote the cultural development of the Entlebuch .

In 1982 he became an honorary citizen of Entlebuch.
