Alfred Böckmann

Alfred Böckmann (born January 10, 1905 in Essen , † December 10, 1995 in Weimar ) was a German composer and university professor .

Böckmann studied at the Cologne Music Academy with Wilhelm Maler , Philipp Jarnach and Walter Braunfels and at the Folkwang School in Essen , where he was a lecturer from 1938 to 1952. From 1952 he was professor of composition and composition at the Liszt School of Music in Weimar . Böckmann emerged as a composer of operas and ballet music . His estate is in the music department of the Goethe and Schiller Archive of the Weimar Classic Foundation .
