Alfred Beeck

Alfred LE Beeck (born September 30, 1855 in Halle (Saale) ; died November 1, 1935 there ) was a German poultry farmer. He was lecturer for poultry breeding at the University of Halle and from 1900 to 1920 head of the teaching and research institute for poultry breeding of the Chamber of Agriculture for the Province of Saxony in Halle.

Life

He was the son of the builder and factory owner Eduard Beeck and his wife Amalie nee Landmann. After attending the city high school in Halle, Alfred Beeck studied at the university there, where he later became a lecturer for poultry farming. From 1900 until his retirement in 1920, Alfred Beeck was the head of the teaching and research institute for poultry farming of the Chamber of Agriculture for the Province of Saxony in Halle-Kröllwitz .

The Cröllwitz turkey is one of his breeding successes .

The agricultural scientist Richard Römer was one of his assistants at the teaching and research institute .
