Alfred Bohl

Alfred Bohl (born January 8, 1909 in Münsterberg in Silesia , † December 25, 1989 in Weimar ) was a German actor , radio play and voice actor .

Life

Bohl was engaged as a theater actor at the German National Theater Weimar for many years and was an honorary member of the theater in the last years of his life. At the theater in Gera in 1945 he played the captain in Büchner's Woyzeck. In addition, he was mainly active in radio and dubbing . Alfred Bohl spoke the role of Dr. Watson in 10 of the 14 films in the Sherlock Holmes series with Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce from the 1940s. The dubbed versions are from 1969 and were created in the DEFA Studios for Synchronization, Weimar . Hinrich Köhn took on this role in the other four films (dubbed in Hamburg in 1992) and the new dubbings produced around 1981 .
