Alfred meat
Alfred Fleisch (born September 29, 1892 in Dietikon , † May 19, 1973 in Mammern ; resident in Romanshorn ) was a Swiss physiologist .
Fleisch studied medicine at the University of Zurich , where he trained as a physiologist by Walter Rudolf Hess and became adjunct professor in 1926 . From 1926 to 1932 he was full professor at the University of Dorpat (now Tartu ) in Estonia , from 1932 to 1962 at the University of Lausanne . His pneumotachograph for measuring the breathing air speed is still used worldwide today.
In 1938 he was elected a member of the Leopoldina .
Alfred Fleisch was awarded the Marcel Benoist Prize in 1953 and was awarded an honorary doctorate from the University of Nancy in 1960 .
His son Alfred Otto Fleisch (1926–2008) was an art collector, majority shareholder and former chief physician of the “Klinik Schloss Mammern”.
