Alfred Herrmann (politician)
Alfred Herrmann (born June 11, 1934 ) is a former German functionary of the GDR block party DBD . He was chairman of the Magdeburg district board of the Democratic Peasant Party of Germany (DBD).
Life
Herrmann, the son of a farm worker , trained as an agricultural skilled worker and completed a technical college degree, graduating as Certified Farmers and university studies as agronomist .
In 1951 Herrmann joined the DBD. For several years he worked as an agronomist and chief agronomist at MTS Brumby . At times he acted as deputy chairman of the council of the Gardelegen district . From 1963 to 1974 he worked as the chief agronomist and worked as deputy chairman of the council for agriculture and food industry in the Gardelegen district. He has worked full-time for the DBD since 1975: from 1975 as secretary, from 1979 to 1983 as deputy chairman and from July 1983 to 1990 as chairman of the Magdeburg district board (successor to Werner Müller, who died in March 1983 ). From 1987 to 1990 Herrmann was also a member of the DBD party executive committee.
Herrmann was a member of the Magdeburg District Assembly from 1981 to 1990 . On June 28, 1983 he was elected chairman of the standing commission for recreation, environmental protection and water management of the district assembly (successor to Werner Müller). He was also a member of the Magdeburg District Committee of the National Front of the GDR .
