Fritz Weißhaupt

Fritz Weißhaupt (born March 6, 1910 in Leitishofen , † May 1984 in Magdeburg ) was a German functionary of the GDR block party DBD . He was a member of the People's Chamber of the GDR , Saxon Agriculture Minister and chairman of the DBD district committee in Magdeburg .

Life

The son of a farmer worked on his father's farm after attending elementary school and an agricultural vocational school. From 1932 to 1935 he was a volunteer and then a manager of farms. On May 1, 1933, he became a member of the NSDAP , but on July 8, 1936, he was again excluded from the Saxony Gaugericht. In 1944 he was drafted into the Wehrmacht . After brief military service and American prisoners of war who put him Red Army as a manager of a confiscated good in Oelsnitz / Vogtl. a.

He then received a new farmer's position , joined the SED in 1946 and became secretary of the SED district leadership in Oelsnitz in January 1948 . In June 1948 he became a co-founder of the DBD in Saxony and chairman of the DBD district board in Oelsnitz. From January 1950 he was political manager of the DBD regional association of Saxony. In June 1950, he succeeded Felix Kaden as Minister of Agriculture and Forestry in the state government of Saxony.

From 1949 to 1954 and 1958 to 1963 he was a member of the People's Chamber and from 1950 to 1952 a member of the State Parliament of Saxony. In August 1952 he became a member of the Dresden District Assembly and deputy chairman of the Dresden District Council. From 1953 to 1962 he was head of the plant production department at the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of the GDR. From 1955 to 1982 he was a member of the DBD party executive committee and from 1962 to April 1975 chairman of the DBD district executive committee in Magdeburg. He was also a member of the Magdeburg District Assembly from 1963 to 1976.

He died in Magdeburg at the age of 74.
