Hans Schilling (theologian)

Hans Schilling (born September 23, 1927 in Stuttgart ; † May 17, 2000 in Munich ) was a German Roman Catholic religious educator , pastoral theologian and university professor .

Life

After studying theology, philosophy, psychology and education at the universities of Tübingen and Munich , he received his doctorate in Munich in 1958. He received ordination in 1951 .

From 1959 to 1971 he worked as a lecturer in Eichstätt. In 1968, he received his habilitation in religious education from the Catholic Theological Faculty of the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . From 1967 he worked as a professor for religious education at the Pädagogische Hochschule München-Pasing (until the university was integrated into the LMU), from 1972 to 1994 as a full professor for pastoral theology at the LMU Munich. From 1974 to 1977 he was dean of the Catholic Theological Faculty of the LMU.
