Alfred Köpf (born March 21, 1928 in Füssen ) is a German entrepreneur and local politician .

biography

Köpf comes from a long-established bourgeois family and was born the oldest of three siblings. After 8 years of elementary school, he began an apprenticeship as a carpenter from 1942 to November 30, 1944 , successfully completing his apprenticeship as a carpenter and a Swabian and Bavarian state winner in the carpenter's trade. From December 1, 1944 to May 2, 1945 he was drafted into the Reich Labor Service / front-line deployment. From this date until November 1945 he was taken prisoner by the Americans .

On May 6, 1955, he passed the master craftsman's examination in the carpentry trade. As early as the fall of 1953 he began building his own house with an integrated workshop. He has been married to his wife Franziska since October 23, 1954. He has three daughters and one son. As an independent carpenter's business, it was registered on January 1, 1955 in the trade register of the Swabian handicrafts. During the years of self-employment, he employed up to 15 journeyman carpenters and trained over 170 apprentices in the carpentry trade. For 30 years he was honorary foreman of the carpenters ' guild feet and board member of Kreishandwerkerschaft feet-Marktoberdorf. During this time he campaigned for the communal interests of his hometown Füssen and for the craft. In particular, the school location of the state vocational school in Füssen became a permanent institution through his initiative.

Local politics

In 1965 he joined the CSU Bavaria. Local activities followed as the CSU city ​​councilor of the city of Füssen and CSU district councilor in the district council of the Ostallgäu district . From 1966 to 2009 he was city councilor of the city of Füssen, 18 years of which he was parliamentary group chairman of the CSU Füssen and periodically local chairman of the CSU Füssen.

He was district chairman of the CSU-Arbeitsgemeinschaft Mittelstand (AGM) in the Ostallgäu district as well as a state board member from 1968 to 1986. From 1972 to 1990, Köpf was chairman of the transport committee in the Füssen town council and then until 2002 traffic officer. He was a delegate at the state party congress of the CSU Bavaria (1972 to 1992) and a member of the Ostallgäu district council (1978 to 1996), where he was active in the district, hospital and sports committee. From 1974 to 1992 he was deputy district chairman of the CSU Ostallgäu and from 1978 until the merger in 2002 to form Sparkasse Allgäu , Köpf was an administrative and association member of the Sparkasse Ostallgäu.

Kobel tunnel

In 1967 he was the initiator of a new border crossing to Austria with a tunnel through the Kobel, a mountain south of Füssen. With this additional border crossing between Lindau and Kiefersfelden , the connection to the international north-south traffic route network in the course of the BAB 7 from Flensburg to Milan was to be completed. On November 23, 1995 the tunnel was attacked by the Kobel. The opening of the border tunnel into neighboring Tyrol was on July 24, 1999. In the course of the BAB 7, this “millennium” found supraregional recognition. It is considered to be one of the most difficult road construction law procedures in the Federal Republic and has employed road builders, lawyers, geologists, politicians, engineers and courts for almost 40 years. In 2010 the "longest motorway in Germany" was completed from Flensburg to the Füssen / Tyrol-Austria border crossing.

Membership in clubs

Köpf has been a member of EV Füssen since 1946 , of which he was a board member for 12 years. From 1946 to 1968 he was an active player in the ice hockey club . In 1968 he founded the "Old-Stars" EV Füssen and was an active player and coach until 2002 . In 1975 he was the founder of the curling department at EV Füssen. Köpf has been a member of the Füssen sailing club since 1956 and has been an active sailor with participation in international sailing regattas. In 1977 he was the client, managing director and co-partner of the tennis hall in Füssen, in order to upgrade Füssen tourism and the infrastructure.
