Alfred Klose (trade unionist)
Alfred Klose (born February 2, 1934 in Zwickau ; † March 25, 2019 ) was a German trade union official . He was the head of the DGB federal school Springe .
Life
Alfred Klose, who was born in Saxony before the Second World War, began his professional career in the post-war period as a miner in the Ruhr area and joined IG Bergbau in 1948 . Soon he changed his underground job to jobs as a welder on construction sites, switched to IG Metall in 1960 and was soon elected to the works council of the mineral oil construction company . He took his first trade union qualification measures from 1968.
In 1971, Klose began his work in the Lower Saxony state capital at IG Metall Hannover, for which he worked full-time for 25 years. At first he took over the youth work. In the aftermath of the 1968 movement , the student and peace movement and the Red Dot campaign , he worked with company youth groups from Kabelmetal , Hanomag , Volkswagen AG , Telefunken and Leichtmetall . In the trade union education system and as a trade union secretary, Klose wanted to "improve the life of dependent employees [...], not only in the company, but also in society." As a result, he soon headed the DGB federal school in Springe run by the German trade union federation .
Klose was involved in the solidarity movement for Chile and the Chileans in exile in Hanover, in solidarity with Greece, he supported the Bremen International Peace School , the association of those persecuted by the Nazi regime - the Association of Antifascists , the Faust cultural center and the "Stadt-Land- Solidarity". He was a co-founder of the Wendland Cooperative eG purchasing cooperative, the Friends of Cabaret Association in Lower Saxony and the archive of the history workshop in the Linden leisure center . He was also active in social movements and, as a networker, supported the magazine Ossietzky , groups such as “Agitprop Hannover”, the intercultural association Kargah, Attac and the Rote Hilfe . He sang in the DGB Choir Hanover, which he co-founded, and worked as an editor for the radio station Radio Flora . Alfred Klose was a hobby beekeeper and was honored with the Hans Böckler Medal.

The deceased was buried on April 6, 2019 in the Deister forest , where the first authorized representative of IG Metall Hannover, Dirk Schulze, gave the funeral speech.
