Alfred Krause (politician)

Alfred Krause (born November 4, 1915 in Ostritz , Oberlausitz , † June 7, 1988 in Berlin ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

Life

Krause attended a trade school and a business school . After an apprenticeship as a bookbinder and publisher , he worked for Germania-Verlag. Until 1933 he was a member of the Windthorstbund and until 1935 also with the Bündische Jugend . In 1943 Krause was drafted into the Wehrmacht . The following year he was taken prisoner by the Soviets .

After the Second World War , Krause joined the CDU in 1945. From 1947 to 1950 he was head of a social welfare office in Lusatia . In 1950 he moved to West Berlin , where he became an employee. In the Berlin election in 1954 he was elected to the District Assembly (BVV) in the Wedding district. In the following election in 1958 , Krause was elected to the Berlin House of Representatives. In September 1969 he resigned from parliament because the BVV Wedding elected him as district councilor for social affairs. Until 1975 he was a city councilor.

Krause was chairman of the CDU Wedding from 1956 to 1973.
