Alfred Leicht

Alfred Leicht (born November 4, 1861 in Schwarzenberg / Erzgebirge ; † February 10, 1946 in Meißen ) was a German philologist, high school teacher and local researcher .

Life

Alfred Leicht came from the Saxon Erzgebirge and was in the town of Schwarzenberg / Erzgeb. , Seat of the administrative authority of the same name . He pursued the career of a teacher and was a student of Moritz Lazarus , with whose second wife he later published his memoirs. Leicht received his doctorate in 1882 at the University of Leipzig with an inaugural dissertation. Is king Ælfred the author of the alliterative metra des Boetius? Then worked for several decades in Meissen at the secondary school there, first as a teacher, then as a professor. He died in Meißen one year after the end of the Second World War.

Alfred Leicht was chairman of the Association for the History of the City of Meissen from 1906 to 1909. He also worked as a translator of the works of Rudolf Eucken and worked as a local researcher. From 1890 onwards he published several of his research results relating to local history, a. a. in the messages of the Association for the History of the City of Meißen.

As vice-principal, Alfred Leicht became a member of the Kant Society in 1913.
