Alfred Pfeifle
Alfred Pfeifle (born May 22, 1916 in Stuttgart ; † April 9, 1986 there ) was a German opera singer (tenor).
Life
After his vocal training in Stuttgart, he made his debut in Freiburg im Breisgau in 1938. After engagements in Düsseldorf and Hamburg , he came to the Stuttgart State Opera in 1949 , where he worked until 1976. There he soon became a crowd favorite, not least because of his acting and comedic qualities. He sang all important roles in the field of play tenor (tenorbuffo): Pedrillo ( Die Entführung aus dem Serail ), Monostatos ( Magic Flute ), Jacquino ( Fidelio ), Mime ( Rheingold and Siegfried ), David ( Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg ), Peter Iwanow ( Tsar and carpenter ). He has appeared at many important opera houses in Europe, such as Paris , London and Brussels ; He could be heard and seen in smaller tenor roles at the Bayreuth and Salzburg Festival ; in the operas Der Revisor (role of postmaster) and Seventeen Days and Four Minutes by Werner Egk, he took part in the premiere.
