Alfred Roscher

Alfred Roscher (born November 11, 1959 in Vienna ) is a former Austrian national soccer player . With FC Swarovski he reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Cup in 1987 .

Career

Alfred Roscher grew up at Wiener Austria , which he joined when he was ten. The strong duel striker was able to become Austrian champions in 1978 with the violets , but only had one championship appearance and in total, including non-competitive games, only recorded five appearances. After not playing the following season, he switched to Vienna in 1979 . Alfred Roscher scored his first four goals in the 1st division in the Blue-Yellows , but had to go to the 2nd division as bottom of the table . After a year at the first-class Wiener Sport-Club , he switched to SSW Innsbruck in 1982 .

With the syndicate, Alfred Roscher was able to establish himself in the upper half of the table and thus also take part in the UEFA Cup several times. His brace in the 2-0 win against Real Madrid on October 3, 1984, was a special memory . In 1986, Alfred Roscher joined the team at FC Swarovski, which was the successor to SSW Innsbruck . The striker had his most successful time with the blue-whites, standing in 1987 under Felix Latzke in the semi-finals of the UEFA Cup (but then against IFK Göteborg on April 8th with 1: 4 away and on April 22nd at Tivoli in Innsbruck 0: 1 defeat), but set a new personal record with 18 championship goals in the same year. At the national level, he reached the ÖFB Cup final with the team , but lost to Rapid there .

In addition, Alfred Roscher made himself interesting for the Austrian national team , but only came to a team assignment, this on April 1, 1987 at home 2: 3 in Vienna in the European Championship qualification in '88 against Spain , when he was from the 71st minute of play for Rudolf Weinhofer was substituted on. With the new Swarovski trainer Ernst Happel , the striker got along less, at the beginning of 1988 he followed Felix Latzke into the German Bundesliga for SV Waldhof Mannheim . After working in Germany for six months, he returned to the 1st Division at SK Vorwärts Steyr , where, however, there were two missions due to injury. So he moved to the 2nd division, where he still played at VfB Mödling (1989/1990) and SK Austria Klagenfurt (1990/91). His playing career ended with an engagement at the lower-class Viennese club SC Mautner Markhof (1991/92).

As a trainer he later looked after the ESV Ostbahn XI . Today he works in the management of the security company Securitas Austria .
