Alfred Wolf (local historian)

Alfred Wolf (* 1923 in Vienna ) is an Austrian author .

Life

Alfred Wolf was a graduate of the commercial academy from 1937 to 1941 and from 1946 to 1948 he attended the higher graphic federal teaching and research institute . In 1960 he was given the status of engineer . Alfred Wolf worked from 1946 to 1980 in the book printing company that he had taken over from his father.

Wolf was the honorary director of the Alsergrund District Museum from 1959 to 1991 and in 1970 he founded the Alsergrund Gallery. Alfred Wolf was also artistically active and demonstrated this in exhibitions at Erste-Bank, Klosterneuburg (2000) and KULTURaum, Vienna 18 (2002). In 1983 he was given the professional title of Professor by the Federal President .

Alfred Wolf is the father of the Austrian ethnologist and author Helga Maria Wolf .
