Alikon is a hamlet in the municipality of Sins in the Muri district in the Swiss canton of Aargau . Alikon is one of the oldest towns in the Freiamt region and was first mentioned in 893 as Halahinchova and Alahinchova .

geography

Alikon is located on the eastern slope of the Lindenberg and is divided into the settlements of Oberalikon ( 526  m above sea level ) and Unteralikon ( 485  m above sea level ). In the north lies Auw , in the east Meienberg and Sins, in the south Aettenschwil and Holderstock and in the west the wooded slope of the Lindenberg and the border with the canton of Lucerne . The hamlet is traversed by the Alikerbach .

Alikon is accessed by side streets and Hauptstrasse 25 touches the hamlet in the east.

Attractions

The Jost and Antonius Chapel in Oberalikon was first mentioned in a document in 1672. In 1755 the chapel was rebuilt. Like the St. Antonius Way Chapel at Tönihof, it is a cultural asset of regional importance .
