Alireza Shapour Shahbazi
Alireza Shapour Shahbazi or Alireza Schapour Schahbazi ( Persian علیرضا شاپور شهبازی) (Born September 4, 1942 in Shiraz ; † July 15, 2006 in Washington, DC ), was an Iranian Iranologist, historian and university professor. He was a professor at the University of Shiraz , University of Tehran , University of London , Georg-August University of Göttingen , Eastern Oregon University , Columbia University and Harvard University . Shahbazi has mainly dealt with pre-Islamic Persian history and has written several articles for the Encyclopædia Iranica .
