Alix Delaporte (* 1969 in Chatou ) is a French film director and screenwriter .

Life

Delaporte studied at the London School of Economics from 1988 to 1989 and completed a master's degree in contemporary history from 1989 to 1993. She then came to the Capa press agency as a journalist and also worked there as a camerawoman. She shot news and portraits, including for the channel Nulle Parts Ailleurs on Canal Plus . During the soccer World Cup in 1998 she shot player portraits and met Zinédine Zidane , about whose career she made the documentary Comme dans un rêve until 2001 .

From 1999 to 2000 Delaporte completed a scriptwriting course at La fémis under Jacques Akchoti . She wrote her first screenplay, which she made in 2003 under the title La Piège and starring Roschdy Zem . Her second short film, also self-written, Comment on freine dans une descente? , which was released in 2005, was awarded the Short Film Prize at the 2006 Venice Film Festival. It was the first time she worked with actress Clotilde Hesme on this film . After working on various scripts and the documentary Le dernier match about Zinédine Zidane, she began working on her debut feature film, Angèle and Tony . Hesme took on the leading role alongside Grégory Gadebois . The action takes place on the rough coast of Normandy, which Delaporte knew from her childhood. Her mother and grandmother came from near Port-en-Bessin , where Delaporte often spent her holidays. Hesme and Gadebois received a César for best young actor for their performance in the 2010 film . Delaporte was nominated for a César in the “ Best First Work ” category. Her directorial work Le dernier coup de marteau , for which Delaporte also wrote the screenplay, ran at the Venice International Film Festival in 2014 in the competition for the Golden Lion . In this film, too, Clotilde Hesme took on the female lead.
