Alken is a Danish small town with 235 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) in the Skanderborg municipality in the east of the Jylland peninsula ( German : Jutland ). It belongs to the parish community ( Danish : Sogn ) Dover Sogn , which belonged to Harde Hjelmslev Herred in what was then Skanderborg until the Danish municipal reform of 1970 , then to Ry Kommune in what was then Århus . which became part of the expanded Skanderborg municipality in the Midtjylland region with the next Danish municipal reform in 2007 .
The city has a train station on the Skanderborg - Herning railway line .
