All the way back to Liverpool ( German  All the way back to Liverpool ) is a multi-part documentary series to five musicians, the birth of their songs, their friendship and their love of music.

Five musicians, long friends, come together again in Liverpool after years. Their goal: to record songs for a music album in a legendary location in just one weekend without prior arrangements or rehearsals.

The setting is the Pink (Motor Museum Recording Studio). This is where Oasis and the Arctic Monkeys recorded their first hit single. Music producer Mike Crossey put the finishing touches on songs by Razorlight , Foals , Jake Bugg and the Black Keys, among others .

The documentary series accompanies the artistic experiment and gives a fascinating and unadulterated insight into the music production and the craft of the songwriter with all its facets: the passion, the efforts, setbacks and successes. In multi-part episodes of 4–12 minutes each, the viewer is brought closer to the musicians, their everyday life and their music. At the same time, Chandra Fleig provides background information on the protagonists.

"All the way back to Liverpool" was created in cooperation with the Babelsberg Film University Konrad Wolf and was shot in Liverpool in 2012 over 10 days . In 2013 the project went online as a web episode on the website All the way back to Liverpool and was completed in 2014.
