Allen Foster Cooper

Allen Foster Cooper (born June 16, 1862 in Franklin , Fayette County , Pennsylvania , †  April 20, 1917 in Uniontown , Pennsylvania) was an American politician . Between 1903 and 1911 he represented the state of Pennsylvania in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Allen Cooper attended the public schools of his home country and then until 1882 the State Normal School in California . He then graduated from Mount Union College in Alliance ( Ohio ) in 1883 . Subsequently he taught as a teacher. After studying law at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor and his admission as a lawyer in December 1888, he began to work in Uniontown in this profession. At the same time he embarked on a political career as a member of the Republican Party .

In the congressional election of 1902 , Cooper was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the 23rd  constituency of Pennsylvania , where he succeeded William Harrison Graham on March 4, 1903 . After three re-elections, he was able to complete four legislative terms in Congress by March 3, 1911 . After serving in the US House of Representatives, Cooper returned to practice as a lawyer. He died on April 20, 1917 in Uniontown, where he was also buried.
