Allen Vincent
Allen Vincent (born August 28, 1903 in Spokane , Washington , † November 30, 1979 in California ) was an American screenwriter . He was nominated for an Oscar in 1949 for best adapted screenplay.
Life
Vincent began his career as a screenwriter in the film industry in Hollywood in 1941 with the thriller drama The face behind the mask ( The Face Behind the Mask ) by Robert Florey with Peter Lorre , Evelyn Keyes and Don Beddoe in the lead roles.
At the Academy Awards in 1949 Vincent and Irma von Cube were nominated for the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for the Jean Negulesco- directed feature Silent Lips ( Johnny Belinda , 1948) in which Jane Wyman , Lew Ayres and Stephen McNally die Main roles played. At the same time Vincent and Irma von Cube were nominated for the script for this film in 1949 for the Prize of the Writers Guild of America (WGA Award) for the best written American drama.
