history

Allenz and Berresheim were first mentioned in a document in 1103 in connection with the exchange of goods between St. Stephan in Mainz and the Ravengiersburg monastery .

From excavations it can be deduced that the area was already settled in prehistoric, Roman and Frankish times.

politics

The district of Alzheim is represented by a mayor and a local advisory board , which consists of seven members. Mayor is Lothar Geisen ( SPD ). In the direct election on May 26, 2019, he was confirmed in office for a further five years with a share of the vote of 82.29%.
