The UHC Alligator Malans is a Swiss floorball club in Malans in the Bündner Herrschaft , the in the top Swiss league, the National League A , plays along.

history

In December 1986 the UHC Alligator was founded. Since all were minors when it was founded, parents had to provide the necessary signatures for the association to be valid. The young troupe consisted to a large extent of middle school students from the Evangelical Middle School Schiers and started in the second division of the SUHV in the season 87/88 and rose immediately. In addition, they achieved an astonishing fourth place in the Bündner Cup. The second season 88/89 ended without loss of points on the first rank and qualified sovereignly for the promotion games, where they got a bad weekend and nothing came of the hoped-for promotion. A few weeks later the promotion at the green table became a fact and so the first team already played in the NLB in the season 89/90, which meant that they had to switch to the large field. In order to enlarge the small squad, this was supplemented with some players from the region as well as their own (successful) juniors. The changeover went well and they finished the season in a good third place. The B-Juniors (small field) remained undefeated this season. Even in the final round in Flamatt, nobody could stop them and they became Swiss champions. In preparation for the second NLB season 90/91, they defeated the first team of the then Swiss champions Rot-Weiss Chur in a friendly match and thus started the new season as favorites. They finished confidently after 18 games and 33 points and a goal difference of 75:20 the championship. However, despite high expectations, they did not succeed on the ascent weekend in Olten. At the end of the season there was a merger with the second division UHC Malans. The name of the association has now been changed to UHC Alligator Malans and some less well-versed chroniclers may therefore incorrectly name 1991 as the year the association was founded. After 12 games in the 91/92 season they were already leading the table when things got even better. The club management at that time succeeded (at the end of February 1992) with the signing of two Swedish national players (Thorbjörn Jonsson and Thomas Vogelberg) in time for the decision of the season, a one-time transfer throughout Switzerland. The remaining championship games and the two promotion games were then mostly a show run by the already strong team, whose game now gained in attractiveness and playful finesse. The team remained undefeated and the promotion became a fact after three years of NLB. In the 92/93 season, the team strengthened itself with players from Rot-Weiss Chur, two Swedish players and integrated some players from Spartak Landquart, with whom they merged as well as with UHC Sharks Maienfeld. The goals were high for the first NLA season as well. Too high as it turned out. In addition to the many newcomers, the demotion from previous successful coach Thomas Berger to assistant coach was probably one of the reasons why little was achieved despite great potential. In the season 93/94, the reinforcement players from Sweden were Stefan Petersson and Janni Westerlund, who acted as player-coach. To the astonishment of many, the season dominator Rot-Weiss Chur was able to win a draw in the last championship game in front of 1,300 spectators, which was enough to make it runner-up in front of Torpedo Chur. In 2003 the association was awarded the Swiss Olympic Prix Ecosport. A year later, the Malans club signed a training agreement with the UHC Sarganserland . Alligator Malans has been integrating mentally handicapped athletes into his club life since 2014.
